"Twenty years from now
you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do
than the ones you did do"
-Mark Twain |
Isn’t
Time
What
It's
All
About?
Have
you heard? As prosperity reaches new heights, so does the amount of time
we spend in leisure. Relatively, we already enjoy more leisure time than
we think. In 1870, for every hour of our lifetime that we worked at a job,
we spent roughly two hours not working - and devoted most of that time to
sleep. By 1950, the ratio was close to one hour working for four hours
leisure. By 2010, for every hour
of our lifetime that we spend working (including working at home), we'll
spend eight hours in leisure.
The fact that we will retire earlier and live longer contributes to these
gains in lifetime leisure. Statistically, it is predicted that you will
spend more time in your home and neighborhood. So your choice of
neighborhood will have an impact upon the quality of life you enjoy. We
all seek happiness in our own paradise.
Webster's definition of paradise is: a place
of bliss; a region of supreme
felicity or delight; heaven; a pleasure garden with parks, animal
sanctuaries, etc. Naturally, it is predicted that the closer to paradise
you are, the happier you will become. Come home to Old Mill Lake and experience
the joy of creating your own paradise.
Isn’t it about time.
